Wood Sculptures
Olga is a wood sculptor living near Wakefield, Quebec. She immersed herself in learning her art soon after retiring from a career in education. She sought mentorship from fellow artists as well as through classes in figure drawing at the Ottawa School of Art and sculpture at the Leonardo School of Art in Florence, Italy . She now sells her work privately and through galleries . Olga was featured in the Summer 2024 edition of the magazine, What Women Create.
As an artist nestled within a lush forest of trees, she finds both sanctuary and a source of raw material for her sculptures. Inspired by the profound connection trees have with the world, she sees them as companions that offer sustenance and inspiration.
" I view each fallen tree as a friend and through my art I strive to offer them a continued life. My sculptures are born from life’s spectrum – from nature to human figures, they echo themes of love, loss, joy, and sorrow. They are stories shaped In wood, as varied and profound as life itself, reminding us that in art, as in life, anything is possible".
